No more Sunday Scaries

Do you get the Sunday Scaries when you start to worry about the upcoming week?

Or maybe this week it’ll be a little more like:

Here’s what I do on Sunday to make it way less scary:

  1. Take a look at the week ahead and make note of any special appointments/commitments as well as my work schedule.
  2. I consider what 1-3 projects will be the focus this week.

Yup, you read that right.

I highly recommend having no more than three things on your plate at any given time.

It’s okay to pause one thing while you focus on another.

Check out my latest instagram reel for To-Do List Overwhelm for how this works on the day-to-day.

Don't let this scare you into thinking that if you temporarily put the other gazillion projects aside this week, they will fall apart.

They will not.

If one of them has the potential to fall apart if it doesn’t get attention over the next 7 days, then it needs to be one of your three projects for the week.

You with me for far, Reader?

Once you know what 1-3 projects will get your attention this week, do this:

  1. Decide the top three actions you can take to move each project forward. I highly recommend you make these actions small steps that can be completed in 30-60 minute blocks of time.
  2. Look at your schedule and find open spots of time you can designate for these activities.
  3. Block sections of time for these in your calendar.

Congratulations! You now made Focus Blocks. 🎉

Your Focus Blocks are appointments with yourself that can adapt to a changing schedule.

Plus, writing down both WHEN and WHERE you’ll complete a task, you DOUBLE your chances of completing it. WOO!

You’ll still get my weekly email newsletter. The New Moon is here again. 🌚 It’s a time of all kinds of unknown, when we're in the most darkness. But there’s also potential. It's a ripe, all-things-are-possible, kind of potential. And yet, we have NO IDEA what it’ll look like or how to get there. The Lunar Cycle, moving...

Coming home, we missed our connecting flight. 😭 The plane was ready to land in DC when we found out the weather was too bad to descend. Instead, we flew circles in the sky for 45 minutes. Though I wasn’t looking forward to a long layover, I was glad that the protocol wasn’t to fly into the storm hoping for the best. 🤞 You don’t always have to move forward at all costs. Sure, things might take longer. People might get upset. Your plans might get derailed. But your peace of mind is worth it....

For years, I’ve had one simple goal that never got done: Get TSA precheck. Every time I’d go through airport security (the LONG line), I’d be kicking myself for procrastinating. I’m embarrassed to admit, I had even filled out the paperwork online LAST YEAR, but never made the in-person appointment. 🤦♀️ It felt like just one more thing I had to do. But then last month something changed. I made the appointment and within two weeks, I had my Known Traveler Number ready for my flight next month....
